Product Description
0993200258 Mercedes-Benz GLC W253 Air Suspension Valve Block Unit
Product Introduction

The 0993200258 is an air suspension solenoid distributor valve developed specifically for the Mercedes-Benz GLC (X253/C253) and multiple same-platform models. It serves as a core control component within the AIRMATIC air suspension system, responsible for distributing high-pressure air generated by the compressor to each individual wheel's air spring as required. Through independent pressure regulation of all four wheels, it maintains the standard ride height and driving stability.

The valve block incorporates multiple solenoid valves internally, precisely controlled by the suspension control unit (ECU) based on signals from the ride height sensors. It typically features 6 air ports: 1 inlet from the compressor, 4 outlets to each wheel air spring, and 1 port to the accumulator tank. Each port features colour coding for easy identification and correct connection during installation.

The air suspension system's pressure sensor is also integrated within the valve block, rather than being located on the compressor. This sensor monitors system pressure and feeds signals back to the ECU, directly influencing the compressor's start and stop control logic. If this sensor malfunctions, the ECU will be unable to send the start command to the compressor, and system pressure cannot be built.

When the original valve block malfunctions due to aged seals, sticky solenoids or internal contamination, this product serves as a reliable replacement solution for restoring the AIRMATIC system to proper working order.

Product Features
  • Independent Four-Wheel Air Distribution: The valve block independently controls inflation and deflation of each air spring via internal solenoid valves, enabling precise vehicle posture adjustment and automatic level control.
  • Integrated Pressure Sensor: The valve block incorporates the air suspension system's pressure sensor, which monitors system pressure and feeds signals back to the ECU. If this sensor fails, the compressor will be unable to receive the start command and system pressure cannot be built.
  • Colour-Coded Port Design: Each port features colour coding for easy identification of connection lines for the compressor, each wheel air spring and the accumulator tank during installation, effectively preventing incorrect connections.
  • Laboratory Electrical and Pneumatic Testing: The product undergoes rigorous electrical and pneumatic testing to ensure stable and reliable performance.
  • Convenient Fault Diagnosis: Valve block failure often manifests as one or more corners of the vehicle sitting too low. A diagnostic method is to swap the airline from the low corner with the airline from a normal corner - if the problem transfers, the valve block is faulty; if the problem remains, the air spring is leaking.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How can I tell if the valve block is faulty rather than an air spring leaking? The typical sign of valve block failure is similar to air spring leaks - one or more corners of the vehicle sitting too low and failing to raise. A diagnostic method is to swap the airline from the low corner with the airline from a normal corner on the valve block. If the problem transfers to the other side, the valve block is faulty; if the problem remains on the same side, the air spring is likely leaking.
Q2: Should I replace the valve block at the same time as the compressor? When the compressor fails due to wear and age, fine metallic debris from the wear process can circulate through the air system and enter the valve block, causing solenoid valves to stick or seals to become damaged. Additionally, drying failure leading to moisture ingress can cause internal corrosion within the valve block. If the compressor has been severely damaged, it is strongly recommended to replace the valve block simultaneously to prevent the new pump from prematurely failing again due to blockages or internal corrosion.
Q3: What happens if the pressure sensor fails? The air suspension system's pressure sensor is located inside the valve block, not on the compressor. If this sensor fails, the suspension control unit cannot receive the system pressure signal and therefore will not send a start command to the compressor, preventing the system from building any air pressure and the vehicle from raising. This is one of the important fault points to check when the compressor fails to operate.
