Product Description
2513200158 Mercedes-Benz R Class W251 Air Suspension Valve Block
Product Overview

The 2513200158 is an air suspension valve block specifically designed for the Mercedes-Benz R-Class W251 and multiple same-platform models (including ML and GL). As a critical control component within the Airmatic air suspension system, it distributes high-pressure air from the compressor to each wheel's air spring as required. Through independent pressure regulation of all four wheels, it maintains standard ride height and driving stability.

This valve block incorporates multiple solenoid valves internally, precisely controlled by the suspension control unit based on signals from ride height sensors. It features 6 color-coded air ports for easy identification and correct connection during installation: 1 inlet from the compressor, 4 outlets to each wheel air spring, and 1 port to the accumulator tank.

The air suspension system's pressure sensor is also located within the valve block, monitoring system pressure and feeding signals back to the ECU. If this sensor malfunctions, the ECU cannot receive system pressure data and will not send a start command to the compressor, preventing the system from building air pressure.

Product Features
  • Independent Four-Wheel Air Distribution: Independently controls inflation and deflation of each air spring via internal solenoid valves, enabling precise vehicle posture adjustment and automatic level control.
  • Integrated Pressure Sensor: Contains the air suspension system's pressure sensor. If this sensor fails, the compressor cannot start and system pressure cannot be built.
  • Color-Coded Port Design: Each port features color coding for easy identification of connection lines for the compressor, wheel air springs, and accumulator tank during installation.
  • High-Strength Fatigue-Resistant Material: Manufactured from high-strength fatigue-resistant plastic, ensuring dimensional stability and airtightness.
  • Convenient Fault Diagnosis: When a corner sits too low, swap the airline from that side with a normal side on the valve block for quick diagnosis.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question Answer
Q1: How can I tell if the valve block is faulty rather than an air spring leaking? The typical sign of valve block failure is similar to air spring leaks - one or more corners sitting too low and failing to raise. A diagnostic method is to swap the airline from the low corner with the airline from a normal corner on the valve block. If the problem transfers to the other side, the valve block is faulty; if the problem remains on the same side, the air spring is likely leaking.
Q2: Should I replace the valve block at the same time as the compressor? When the compressor fails due to wear and age, fine metallic debris can circulate through the air system and enter the valve block, causing solenoid valves to stick or seals to become damaged. If the compressor has been severely damaged, it is strongly recommended to replace the valve block simultaneously to prevent the new pump from prematurely failing again due to blockages.
Q3: What happens if the pressure sensor fails? The air suspension system's pressure sensor is located inside the valve block, not on the compressor. If this sensor fails, the suspension control unit cannot receive the system pressure signal and therefore will not send a start command to the compressor, preventing the system from building any air pressure and the vehicle from raising.
